Abba Dabba Do - (Avent 1993 NR) 3" X 20" tall. A sport of hosta Sunpower. Solid green with light blue edge. Prefers 3/4 to full sun. Lavender flowers in summer.

Abiqua Blue Crinkles - (Walden West NR) 2' X 3'. Parentage: Hybrid
Slightly cupped, heavily corrugated blue leaves. A rapid growing Love Pat type.

Abiqua Moonbeam - (Walden West 1987) 26" X 30". Parentage:(August Moon mutation)
Blue-green center w/a chartreuse, irregular greenish margin (sometimes appearing to be golden). White flowers

Abiqua Drinking Gourd - (Walden West 1989) 18" X 15". Parentage:(Tokudama x sieboldiana)
Very large dark blue-green, deeply cupped . White flowers.

Abiqua Moonbeam - (Walden West 1987) 26" X 30". Parentage:(August Moon mutation)
Blue-green center w/a chartreuse, irregular greenish margin (sometimes appearing to be golden). White flowers

Antioch - (Ruh for Hofer 1979) 18"X26" Parentage: (H Fortunnei Hybrid)
Green centered leaf with wide band of pale creamy-white. Leaves 10" long and 4" wide. Pale lavendor flowers.

Aqua Velva - (Vaughn 1983) 28" X 28-36". Parentage: (Polly Bishop x Blue Lace)
Wide, deep blue-green leaves, become slightly cupped as they age. Lavender flowers with ruffled petals. One of my favorites.

August Moon - Summers - 1968) 2' X 3' Puckered, crinkled 7 to 9' leaves of gold color. Good for highlighting darker areas. Near white flowers. Prefers morning sun.

B

Big Daddy - (Aden 1978) up to 20" tall X 3'. Large blue hosta with puckered "almost round" leaves up to 10" X 8", slightly cupped. Early summer white flowers.

Big Moma - (Aden 1978) up to 20" X 42". Parentage: (Blue Tiers x Blue Angel)
Large slightly puckerd deep blue-green leaves 11" X 8". Near lavender flowers.

Birchwood Parky's Gold (Shaw/AHS 1986) 15" X 3'. Parentage:(Sunlight and Frances Williams)
Attractive gold leaves that hold their color. Tolorates sun. Nice row edger. Pale lavender flowers.

Black Beauty - (Carpenter 1984) 30" x4' Parentage:( Green Crust Hybrid)
Very dark, thick green leaves reaching 14" x 11". One of the darkest hostas. Lavender flowers in mid-season.

Blue Cadet - (Aden 1974) 12" X 15". Lovely heart shaped leaves, Nice rounded growing habit. Medium Lavender flowers.

Blue Danube - (Smith/BHHS TF 2 x 24) 8" X 14". Powder blue 4"x4" flat leaves. Holds blue color. Lavender flowers

Blue Seer - (Aden NR) 2" x 5' Parentage: (sieboldiana seedling)
Large deep blue crinkled foliage on a massive clump. White flowers just above the foliage

Blue Umbrellas - (Aden 1978) 30" x 4'. Parentage:(Tokudama x Sieboldiana)
Giant, shinny blue-green leaves 12" long x 10" wide. Heavy substance and texture. Rapic grower and is pest resistant. Light Lavender flowers.

Blue Wedgwood - (Smith/BHHS TF 2 x 9) 13" x 2'. Wedge shaped, smooth blue-gray leaves. Puckering on extra large leaves. One of the best medium blues.

Bold Edger - (K. Vaughn 1983) 20" x 20"' Parentage: (Beatrice x Frances Williams)
Long dark green leaves with a wide margin of gold changing to creamy white. Spreading habit makes for sizable mound. Lavender flowers

Tokudama Bright Lights - (Aden/Klehm) 15" x 2' Parentage:(tokudama Aureonebolosa)
Considerd among the best of the Tokudamas Puckerd golden leaves with dark blue edges. White flowers on short stocks.

Brim Cup (Aden 1986) 12" x15". Paretage(Aden #392 x Wide Brim)
Varigated irregular creamy margins on rich green, very cupped leaves. Lavender flowers.

Bunchoko - (Maekawa 1969) 4" x 10". Dwarf sieboldii with narrow white edge. Purple stripped flowers.

Chinese Sunrise - (Summers) 14" x28". Probable Parent:(Lancifolia)
Narrow, shiny chartruse-green foliage. Dark green edge in spring. Bell shaped lavender flowers.

ChoKo Nishiki - (Japan) 14" x 24" Parentage: (montana sport)
Clear yellow, pointed leaves with green stable margin. Turns toward white and then light green as season progresses. Possibly the same as or very sililar to On Stage. Near white flowers.

Color Glory - (Aden 1980) 3' x 40". Paretage:(natural varigated sport of sieboldiana Elegans)
Varigated with yellow center and wide irregular margin of blue and green tones. Pest resistant and vigorus. Prefers shade to 1/3 sun. Funnel-shaped lavender flowers.

Crepe Suzette - (Lachman 1986) 6" x 15" Easy to grow hosta with rounded green leaves and a wide cream colored margin. Lavender flowers in mid-season.

D

Daybreak (Aden 1986) 22" x 36". Largeshiny bright gold leaves with textured viens, distinctive. Good for a dark spot. Tolorates 1/2 sun. Lavender flowers

Dew Catcher - (Ursula Syre-Herz 1995) Thick textured, deeply seersuckered light gray-green foliage.

Diamond Tiara (T&Z Nursery/Mark Zilis 1985) 14" x 2'. Parentage:(Golden Tiara mutation)
Mediam green center with white margin. Leaves 2.5" wide and 4.5 " long. Purple flowers

Donohue's Piecrust - (Donohue NR) 22"x30" One of be best hostas for piecrust magins. A parent of many other piecrust hybrids. Medium green, round, cupped shaped leaves 7" wide and 10" long. White flowers

Don Stevens - (Mildred Seaver) 18" x 30" Glossy green leaves with wide dark yellow margin. Dark purple flowers on reddish bloom scapes. Very nice plant!

E

El Capitan - (W&E Lachman 1987) 2" x 3" Parentage:(Beatrice hybrid)
Irregular wide crem magins on dark green leaves, heavily rugose. Light Lavender flowers

Emerald Tiara - (Walters Gardens Inc. 1988) 14" x 34" Parentage:(Golden Sceptor mutation)
Gold center with mediam green margins. Leaves 3.5 inches wide. Pale purple flowers

Francee - (Klopping 1986) 18" x 3'. Parentage:(Fortunei derivative)
Large dark green, heart shaped leaves with "nice clean white margin". Some crimping and puckering on mature leaves. A standard in any hosta garden. Lavender flowers.

sieboldiana Frances Williams - (Williams 1986) 20" x 3' Parentage:(sport of sieboldiana Elegans)
Heavily corregated round blue leaves with wide golden border. Subject to some burning on the border. Pale lavender flowers

Frosted Jade - (Maroushek 1978) 28" x 30" Parentage:(montana hybrid)
Gray-green, long leaves with wide white magins. Funnel shaped white flowers. A very nice plant!

Plant did not come back this year??? A replacment is on its way.

Geisha - (Vaughn 1983) Chartreuse leaves with green magin. Small plant with bare 10" bloom scapes and lavender flowers. Prefers shade to 1/2 sun

Ginko Craig - (Craig/Summers 1986) 15" x 20" Deep green center to leaves with irregular white margin. Leaves grow 6" long and 2" wide. Nice small speciman. Tolorates sun. Blue flowers.

Gold Regal - (Aden 1974) 3'x4' Leaves to 11" long and 8" wide in mature plants. Uniform green changing to gold as the summer progresses. TOlorates sun well, but avoid direct afternoon sun. Bell shaped purple flowers.

Gold Standard - (Pauline Banyai 1976) 18" x 3' Parentage:(sport of Blue Fortunei)
Lovely golden center leaves with brigh dark irregular green margin. Tint of gold varies with the amount of light the plant receives. Among the most popular hostas. Lavender flowers

Golden Bullion - (Benner/Ruh 1989) 14"x 3' (sure..;) Prentage:(Considered to be all yellow Tokudama Flavocircinalis)
Yellow, changin to gold, leaves, heavily corrugated. Near white flowers

Golden Scepter - (Savory 1983) 1' x 18" Parentage:(yellow form of Golden Tiara)
4" long and 3" wide yellow leaves. Purple striped flowers

Golden Sculpture - (Anderson 1982) 40" x 40" Satiny rounded yellow leave that grow to 14" long and 10" wide. Bell shapped white flowers. Handles some sun.

Golden Tiara - (Savory 1977) 15" x 20" Parentage: (sport of nakaiana seedling)
Small, lovely gold edged hosta with bright to mediaum green centers. Flowers are bell shaped deep blue

Grand Tiara - (Pollock 1991) 14" x 22" Parentage: (Golden Tiara mutation)
Chartreuse leaves with dark green centers. Wider margin than Golden Tiara. Bell shaped purple flowers

Great Expectations - (Bond/Aden 1988) 22" x 33" Parentage:(natual sport of sieboldiana Elegans)
Large irregular varigated margin of blue and green with light yellow-cream center. A striking plant! Leaves are rounded and puckered. White flowers.

Green Fountain - (Aden 1979) to 40" x 55" Parentage:(Green Wedge x longpipes)
All green hybrid with long shiny slender leaves. Pinkish flowers late in the season

Blue-green leaves of approx 5" x 3.5" Nice plant. Lavender flowers in mid-season

Hazel - (Stone/Ral 1987) - 6" x 1' Yellow leaves at maturity, 4" long and 1.75" wide. Nice little plany a a good edger. Lavender flowers

Inniswood - (Innis Botanical Garden) 2' X 4' Parentage:(Sun Glow mutation)
Rounded gold foliage with a wide green edge. Leaves are 9" wide by 6" long. Lavender flowers in mid-season.

Jade Scepter - (Zilis 1988) 14" x 28" Paretage:(Golden Tiara mutation)
Medium green leaves 4" wide and 3" long. Purple flowers

Joseph - (Kuk 1990) - 11"x16" Parentage: (Josephine mutation)
Heavy, glossy dark green leaves 6" long and 4.5" wide. flared lavender flowers

Just So - (Aden 1986) 3.5" x 8" Parentage: (Little Aurora x Aden#421)
Chartreuse yellow leaves with narrow green margin with an occasional green stripe toward the midrib. Heavily rugose leaves. Light lavebder flowers in mid-season.

K

sieboldii Kibitan - (AHS 1987) 8" x 8-10" Yellow foliage with clear green edge. Ruffles along the edge. Meduim lavender flowers. Prefers some sun. Half day morning sun is best.

Krossa Regal - (Osaka University/Krossa/Summers 1980) 3'x 3' Parentage: (nigrescens hybrid)
Heavy leathery steel blue-gray leaves. Vase shaped mound. Lavender flowers on 6' spikes.

L

Lancifolia - (Engler 1988) 15" x 2' Reportedly the "oldest hosta in America", dating back to 1690. Glossy, slender pointed green leaves 5" long and 3" wide. Good plant to use in masses. Purple flowers

Leola Fraim - (William & Eleanore Lachman 1986) 22'X50" Leavev 10" long and 7" wide. Excellent white edged hosta that evolves on the edge from yellow to creamy white thru the season. Pale lavender flowers

Little Razor - (Zilis/Lohman 1988) 6" x 16" Parentage: (Sum and Substance x venusta)
Pale gold 3" x 1.25" leaves. Pale lavender flowers

Little Sunspot - (Briggs) 1' x1' Paretage: (Little Aurora sport) Bright golden heart shaped leaves with a dark green border. White flowers in early summer

Love Pat - (Aden 1978) 22" x 20" Round, cupped, puckered very blue heavily textured leaves. Slug resistant. Pale lavender flowers in early summer. A Classic

Minuteman - (Machen 1995) 15" x 2' Parentage: (Francee mutation)
Very dark varigated green leaves with pure white border, slightly wavy edge. Somewhat cupped. Improved Patriot. pale lavender striped flowers.

Midwest Magic - (Zilis) 30" x 30" Parentager: possible Sea Dream sport)
Smooth round dark gold leaves that lighten with age. Wide darker green border. Light purple flowers in early summer

Mildred Seaver - (Vaughn 1981) 14" x 30" Parentage: (Beatrice #73-2XFrances Williams)
Deep green large leaves with creamy white border. Crinkled foliage 5" loong and 5" wide. Light mauve flowers

nigrescens - (Maekawa 1937) 2' x3' Wide ashy gray green leaves up to 7" x7". Leaves have leathery texture. Pale violet flowers

nigrescens Elatior - (Maekawa 1940) Very large vase shaped mound with leaves up to 15" long and shiny greeen. Considered to be among the best background hosta plants. Near white flowers on 5-6' bloom-scapes.

On Stage - (Aden 1986) 14" x 2' Parentage: (Montanaga)
Large yellow leaves with irregular green margins. Considerd among the classic hostas. Lavender flowers.

Patriot - (Machen 1982) 2' x 3' Parentage:(Sport of Francee)
Bold white magins on contrasting dark green leaves. Hosta of the year for 1997 Fast grower that maintains well thru the season. Meduim lavender flowers

Paul Glory - (Hofer/Ruh 1987) 17" x 26" Parentage: (Perry's True Blue mutation)
Bright Yellow leaves with wide blue-gray margin. One of Mark's favorites! Leaves lighten as season progresses. Light lavender flowers.

PeeDee Goldflash - (Ursula Syre-Herz 1987) 10" x18" - Parentage: (Kabitan)
Yellow lancelote flat leaves with wavy greenish edge. A larger Kibitan with leaves 4" long and 1.5" wide. Purple striped flowers

Pizzazz - (Aden/Vaughn 1986) 22" x3' Varigated plant with sizable heart shped leaved of frosted blue with a light cream to white irregular margin. Densly covered with white flowers. Prefers shade to 1/4 sun.

plantagenea - (Ascherson 1938) 20" x 2' The August Lily brought to the USA with the settlers. Green waxy leaves with a twisted point which are up to 9" long and 6" wide. Pure white fragrant flowers

Platunum Tiara - (Walters Gardens 1987) 1' x 14" Parentage: (Golden Tiara mutation)
Chartreuse green leaves with white margins. Good edger or groundcover. Fast grower. Purple stripped flowers.

Queen Josephine - (Kuk 1993) 13"x17" Parentage: (Josephine mutation)
Glossy dark green heart shaped leaves with wide yellow edges that change to creamy white. Some slight streaking. Medium violet flowers.

Radiant Edger - (Zilis 1990) 1' X 30 " Paretage: (sport of Gold Edger)
Medium green leaves with a chartreuse magin of varying width. Some streaking in the mid-leaf. Very good form and color. Recoomeded as a speciman plant. Funnel shaped flowers on 2' scapes

Rascal - (Solberg 1991) 18" x 20" Parentage:( sport of Gold Regal)
Large plant at maturity. Light yellow leaf with dark green margin that varies from nearly nothing to over 1/2". Some puckering. Tubular violet flowers on 30" scapes.

Regal Splendor - (Walters Gardens 1987) 3' x 3' Parentage: (Krossa Regal sport)
Shinny blue-gray leaves with a creamy yellow border of variable width. Upright growth. Light lavender bell shaped flowers

Richland Gold - (Wade 1987) 14" x 30" Parentage: (all gold form of Gold Standard)
From greenish yellow leaves in spring to bright gold by mid-June. Requires some sun. Lavender flowers in August

September Sun - (Solberg - 1985) 22"x34" Parentage: (August moon sport)
Varigated sport of August Mon with yellow center and green margin. Leaves are 5" long and 6" wide. White flowers in mid-season

Spritzer - (Aden 1986) 14"x18" Parentage: (#349 x Green Fountain)
Varigated leaf with white gold center and two tone green variable edge. Leaves are 10" long and 5" wide. Heavy bllomers with purple-white flowers. Sun tolerant.

So Sweet - (Aden 1986) 14"x22" Parentage: (Fragrant BouquetXSeedling 462)
Glossy light green leaves with large white edge. Long fragrant bloomer. The more sun, the more blooms. Makes good edger.

Striptease -(Rick and Criss Thompson 1991) 20" x 3' Parentage: (Gold Standard mutation)
Yellowish-green-gold center with wide green edge. A white stripe forms between the center and outer edge. Pale violet flowers.

Sugar and Cream - (Zilis 1984) 22" x50" Parentage: (Honeybells sport)
Dark green long leaves with cream colored margins. Leaves are 4" x 9" An eye catcher. Pale lavender flowers

Sum and Substance - (Aden - 1980) 30" x 60" One of the largest hostas and a beauty. Chartruese leaves change to gold with sunlight. Pest resistant. Leaves reaach 15" x 20". Bell-shaped white flowers.

Sundance - (Walters Gardens 1984) 20"x24" Parentage (Aoki Sport)
Narrow cream to white margined green leaf. The more sun, teh whiter the margin. Leaves are 9" long and 6" wide. Dense foliage mound. Large lavender flowers in mid-season

Sun Power - (Aden 1986) 2' x3' Parentage: (Aden 217 xx Aden 219)
Rapid grower. Wavy yellow leaves 10" x 7.5" Brightens dark areas and can handle some sun. Lavender flowers

T

Tall Twister - (Minks 1973) 12" x 12". Dark green twisted leaves with wavy margins. Nice for mass plantings. Rich purple flowers.

Tokudama Aureonebulosa - (AHS 1987) 15" x 30" Slow grower but worth the wait. Very colorful. Leaf center is a mix of chartrease, gold and bluish-green with variable width blue-green margin. Color intensifies with age of plant. Slightly puckered, cupped and heavily textured leaves. Prefers 3/4 sun to 1/4 shade. White flowers

Tokudama Flavocircinalis - (AHS 1987) 16" x 40" Puckered green centered leaf with wide irregular cream-yellow margin. Prefers 30% shade, having more colorful margins with more sun. Leaves are heavily textured and corrugated.

U

Undulata Albomarginata - (AHS-NC 1987) 16" x 3' One of the firsst up in the spring. Deep grass green center with white edging. Tolorate some sun. Lavender flowers on long slender bloom scapes.

Undulata Univitata - (Hylander 1954) 2' x 3' Dark green leaves with variable white stripe in center. Full sun to half shade. Light lavender flowers on long slender bloom scapes.

Undulata Wade 102 - (Wade 1984) 15" x 15" Wade Undulata selection with a medium amount of white varigation in the center. Leaves are spiral twisted and long pointed. Best in 35 to 50% sun for best white color. Light lavender flowers on 18" scapes.

Van Wade - (Kuk's Forest - 1980) 15" x 2' Parentage: (Dorothy Bebedict x Northern Lights)
Dark green leaves with 1/2 inch creamy-yellow margin. Leaves are slightly cupped and puckered! Lavender Flowers. A lovely hosta.

W

Wide Brim - (Aden 1979) 18" x 24" Parentage: (Bold One X Bold Ribbons)
Blue green leaves with irregular cream margin. Prefers shade to 3/4 sun. Pale lavender flowers with attractive flower buds.

Winning Edge - (T&Z/Zilis 1988) 16" x 37" Parentage: (Tokudama Aureonebulosa)
Blue-green leaves with a yellow margin. Pale lavender flowers

Y

Yellow River - (England/Aden/Benedict 1993) 2'x30" Medium to large plant with bright deep green leaves bordered by a showy, large, irregular yellow-gold margin. White flowers.

Z

Zounds - (Aden 1978) 20" x 30" Metallic all gold leaf grown 9" x 9". Good substance and older leaves evidence substantial puckering. Preferes up to 3/4 sun. Lavender flowers in mid-season.
